Geneva, Switzerland; Taipei, Taiwan – 23 November 2017 - Nurse leaders representing ten* national nursing associations (NNAs) across Asia gathered in Taipei, Taiwan for the 18th ICN Asian Workforce Forum to discuss the range of issues facing the region, including work environments and working conditions, educational levels, the need for evidence-based research, making an impact on policy and building health system resilience. Recognising the role of the profession in sustaining the environment, participants called for implementation of the WHO’s climate change and health work plan.

ICN welcomes 35th partner to Fight the Fakes

The International Council of Nurses (ICN) welcomes the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) to the Fight the Fakes campaign, bringing the total number of partners to 35. ICN met with the NABP and other campaign partners at a recent meeting in Brussels to work on their future plans to raise awareness of the widespread sale and use of falsified medicines across the world and the dangers associated with these fake products.

Geneva, Switzerland; 20 September 2017 – The International Council of Nurses (ICN) announced today the appointment of Professor Thomas Kearns as interim Chief Executive Officer until a new CEO is appointed.
Professor Kearns is taking a sabbatical from his role as the Executive Director of the Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI).
