The First Meeting of the Parliament's Nursing Committee Held

The initial meeting of the Parliament's Nursing Committee convened with representatives from the Iranian Nursing Organization and the Ministry of Health
. Attendees included Dr. Abbas Ebadi, Deputy Minister of Nursing, Dr. Ahmad Nejatian, General Director, Dr. Vahid Zamanzadeh, President of the High Council, and Dr. Mohammad Jamalian, Chairman of the Nursing Committee of the Parliament's Health and Treatment Commission. Dr. Mohammad Sharifzadeh, Secretary-General of the Nurses' House, was invited but unable to attend.
Key topics included addressing the nursing community's demands, payment of arrears, and reviewing the actions taken by the Ministry of Health, Parliament, and the Nursing Organization. Discussions focused on increasing overtime pay, hiring, and paying arrears to nurses.
Dr. Jamalian emphasized the need to categorize nurses' demands into short-term (by Nurses' Day), medium-term (for the 2025 budget), and long-term (for potential legislation). Additional topics included tax reductions, increasing the value of nursing services, special allowances, and early retirement for nurses. The committee decided to review progress with relevant officials and ensure these demands are met by Nurses' Day. Future meetings will invite more nursing sector activists for broader participation.
